SEAN SCULLY (B. 1945)

Sean Scully is known for his strong interest in geometric, compositional structures. This small-scale watercolor is a strong example of the artist's simplified nature of working with shapes such as rectangles and squares. Scully uses a darker palette of rich watercolors to convey abstraction through geometric forms.
