NAM JUNE PAIK (1932-2006)

Known as one of the most important video artists of all time, Nam June Paik was a pioneer of digital media. Paik worked with a multitude of genres including video, performance, drawing and sculpture. In this cibachrome print of David Bowie, Paik pays homage to the British singer by transferring a video still to photographic paper. Here, two different types of media are combined into one, a technique that Paik was extremely fond of.
