Tasting note: A bottle with small Peatling & Cawdron label from the Symington reserves. Brick red with small orange rim. Deep nose of spices and raisined grapes, with leather and cream followed by lavender and slight bergamot aromas. A very attractive nose. Lovely smooth start of taste, this has depth and complexity. Quite sweet on the after taste, a wine of charm and character that leaves a strong impression. All in balance with a long life ahead. Only in the length you notice this is a Gould Campbell which doesn’t just have the strength and intensity of the great 1963’s but this is very close and what a great surprise! A 1963 of charm. Love this vintage port very much. July 2017. EV
