Specialist note
The original portrait of Lord Raglan by Sir Francis Grant hangs in the Institute of Directors on Pall Mall, formerly the United Services Club (see R. Walker, National Portrait Gallery, Regency Portraits, London, 1985, I, p. 407). Grant's painting depicts Lord Raglan in full military regalia including the sash and Star of the Order of Bath in an interior. His pose and facial features in both paintings, however, are identical. There is another version by Clarke after Grant in the Army and Navy Club, St James's Square.
