MARK OF GEORGE LOVERIDGE & CO., BIRMINGHAM, 1896
The ivory top fluted and carved with a band of foliage, the replaced silver ferrule engraved Lord FitzRoy Somerset, with woven black wrist loop; together with two silver-mounted ivory paper knives, mark of William Comyns, London, 1891 and 1903, and a silver-mounted horn paper knife, mark of Sampson Mordan, London, 1882, with a seated monkey finial
The cane: 35½ in. (90.5 cm.) long; largest paper knife: 15 in. (38 cm.) long

The walking cane: Lord FitzRoy Somerset, later 1st Baron Raglan (1788-1855).
Apparently sold from the Raglan collection in the 1930s.
Anonymous sale, Holts, London, 13 December 2005, lot 35, where acquired by Fitzroy, 5th Baron Raglan (1927-2010).
