The first with curved single-edged blade double-edged towards the point and etched on each side with scrollwork and respectively with an entwined 'S' monogram and the Spencer crest each beneath an earl's coronet, gilt-brass hilt with a fouled anchor within a double wreath on each langet and quillons each with crown finial, and ivory grip-scales; the second characteristic form with double wreath Admiral's buttons; the last of gold bullion with double wreath Admiral's buttons, in original tin with a pair of ivory handled boot-hooks
