RUNKEL SOLINGEN' on the back-edge and with etched blued and gilt decoration for half its length including the Royal Arms and a crowned fouled anchor, gilt-brass stirrup-hilt with langets each engraved with a fouled anchor, lion's head pommel, ivory grip with wire binding and applied gilt-brass escutcheon on each side, one engraved with the Royal coat of arms, the other with Spencer family coat of arms, and blue and gold bullion sword-knot
