Born Essen, Germany, 1956. Studied at the Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie, Düsseldorf, 1977-84. Solo exhibitions include: Dia Center for the Arts, New York, 1993; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, CA, 1996; Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Basel, 1997; Tate Modern, London, 2001; White Cube, London, 2006: Hahn/Cock, Fourth Plinth, Trafalgar Square, National Gallery, London, 2013. Group exhibitions include: HYPERMENTAL. Wahnhafte Wirklichkeit 1950 - 2000 von Salvador Dalí bis Jeff Koons, Kunsthaus Zürich, Zürich; Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburg, 2000; Color Chart: Reinventing Color, 1950 to Today, Museum of Modern Art, New York, 2008. She lives in Düsseldorf, Germany.
