At a recent dinner in Hong Kong, the '96 Haut-Brion was disarmingly charming - silky, accessible, and fragrant, with notes of violet, plum, saddle leather, and spice. On the palate it was not lacking structure, but there was nothing harsh or astringent at all. A real delight. CC, September, 2011
