Hublot is the official watchmaking partner of Ferrari, the incredible MP-05 La Ferrari watch is designed to have the appearance of the engine bay of its namesake, Ferrari’s ‘LaFerrari’ F1-derived hybrid. The style of the case captures the car’s curves and contours, the crystal representing the glass ‘engine’ cover.

Designed as an entity to showcase the extraordinary bespoke manually-wound movement, the MP-05 is a considerable watchmaking achievement, with 637 parts and a 50-day power reserve provided by a system of 11 sequential spring barrels, this watch has the longest power reserve of any watch in the world. The barrels resemble a bank of exposed engine cylinders, to either side is a pair of green anodized aluminium rollers with luminous numerals to display the time, at the lower end, a small seconds indication rotates with the vertical one-minute tourbillon. To wind the watch, a special winding ‘pistol’, modelled on an F1 wheel changing tool is provided which is inserted at the top of the case. The time indications are adjusted from the underside via a flush crown with a special tool on a Ferrari key fob.
