MOVEMENT: manual, Cal. 861 mechanical, 17 jewels, metal dust cap
DIAL: black, luminous baton numerals, outer fifths of a second divisions, luminous baton hands, three sunken engine-turned subsidiary dials for constant seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours registers, crystal etched with OMEGA symbol
CASE: tonneau-shaped, black bezel with tachymeter scale calibrated to a maximum of 500 units, fluted lugs, screw back with engraved OMEGA symbol and “The First Watch Worn on the Moon, Flight-Qualified by NASA for all Manned Space Missions”, OMEGA crown, two wide round chronograph buttons in the band, 42 mm. diam.
SIGNED: case, dial, movement
BRACELET/CLASP: stainless steel OMEGA bracelet stamped 1116, deployant clasp, overall approximate length 200 mm.

Specialist note

According to the Omega Archives, the present watch was completed on 8th June 1971 and delivered to the United States.

Around 1971 the reference 145022-69 ST was given a case back engraved with references to the moon landing. These first models of the post-moon landing Speedmaster are known by collectors as “straight writing” due to the central text being written in a straight line and to distinguish them from the following models with curved writing around a central medallion.
