Specialist note
According to the Omega Archives, the present watch was completed on 26th August 1966 and delivered to the United Kingdom.
The production of reference 105.003 ran from 1964 to 1969. It is the last of the Speedmasters with straight lugs. This is the reference that passed through the NASA selection tests of 1965 to become the official timepiece of the astronauts on the Gemini missions. It is sometimes called the “Ed White” by collectors after the astronaut of the Gemini IV mission. With sub-references -63, -64 (1964-1966) and -65 (1966-1969) the reference remained unchanged until the end of production in 1969.
