With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with rose dial and pink gold indexes in 1946 and its subsequent sale on 23 October 1946.

Reference 1588, was produced from 1944 through 1955. It features a classic rectangular-shaped case and the rectangular calibre 9'''90 movement, around which Patek Philippe made most of the wristwatches of that time. The dial signature and subsidiary seconds were engraved and hard enamelled. According to our research, less than 30 examples have come up for auction to date and less than 8 examples have appeared with a pink gold dial, such as the present example.
