Live 8 guitar Various Artists
A Valley Arts custom-built guitar, no serial number, in natural finish, unbound African zebrawood body in the shape of the African continent, maple neck, headstock face with inscription Live 8 London July 2, 2005, twenty-five fret wood fingerboard with dot inlays, two humbucking pickups, two rotary controls, selector switch, bridge baseplate with six adjustable saddles, signed on the body, fingerboard and neck by Paul McCartney, Stereophonics, The Who (Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey), Slash, Razorlight, The Killers, Richard Ashcroft, UB40, Pink Floyd (David Gilmour), Keane, Pete Doherty, Sting, Bob Geldof, Neil Morrissey, Snoop Dog, Paris Hilton, Velvet Revolver, Annie Lennox, David Beckham, Jeremy Clarkson, Travis, and Robbie Williams amongst others; a black Gibson guitar strap and a black Gibson rectangular hardshell case with maroon plush lining; accompanied by three hand drawn 'maps' outlining the placement of the signatures (6)

Specialist note

The Valley Arts guitars, a division of Gibson, in Conway, Arkansas, built and donated two Live 8 guitars which were used as the official logo of the worldwide Live 8 concert event. Each of the guitars bears the date and location of one of the Live 8 events this one being the "London" guitar, where the relevant signatures of artists performing that day were obtained.
