The first with lightly swamped tapering barrel encrusted with two gold inscriptions within chiselled panels running over the greater part of its length, the breech with a gold-encrusted arabesque panel and the full-length tang covered in nielloed silver, plain iron lock, figured maple stock, the butt overlaid with a series of shaped silver panels chased with patterns of flowers and foliage picked-out in niello on a stippled ground, the pommel, the fore-end cap and barrel-bands all en suite, small silver side-plate incorporating a maker's signature, and button trigger, the butt cracked, ramrod missing; the second with tapering barrel with differing inscriptions inlaid in gold also within long narrow panels, plain lock, maple stock overlaid with niello silver panels at the rear, the pommel, fore-end cap and single barrel-band all en suite, button trigger, and brass-tipped ramrod, the pommel chipped
