A FINE PAIR OF BRESCIAN ALL-METAL FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOLS OF PRESENTATION QUALITY
CIRCA 1750
With silvered iron barrels, the breeches chiselled and gilt with flowers, foliage and a coronet in low relief and each with raised gilt sighting rib, iron locks chiselled and gilt en suite with the breeches, silver full stocks cast in low relief and gilt about the barrel tangs and ramrod-pipes en suite with the breeches and locks, each cast in imitation of a chiselled side-plate opposite the lock, with spurred pommels, trigger-guards, ramrod-pipes and escutcheons all gilt and all cast in relief, original iron ramrods with silvered baluster tips, and retaining almost all of their original finish: in leather-covered wooden case lined in padded cream silk (the case worn)
