PATEK PHILIPPE, REF. 5170J-001, A FINE 18K YELLOW GOLD CHRONOGRAPH WRISTWATCH

Reference 5170J-001 marks the beginning of Patek Philippe’s contemporary approach to a manually-wound, two-register chronograph wristwatch. With production beginning in 2010 and ceasing in 2019, the timepiece is appropriately sized at 39mm to fit an array of wrist sizes. Interestingly, the dial features pulsometer scale which harkens back to doctor’s watches from the 1940s, adding a jovial flair to the wristwatch. Upon activation of the chronograph, the scale helps measure a person’s pulse. Reference 5170J features a sapphire caseback to display the wonderful in-house caliber CH 29-535, bringing the timepiece into modernity.
