More Information
Specialist note
Introduced in 1976, the design of the Patek Philippe Nautilus was inspired by portholes found on maritime vehicles. The original Reference 3700 was constructed with a monobloc case, replicating the way portholes were opened on vessels.
The present lot, reference 5711/1A-011 is a contemporary wristwatch dating to 2016. The case and bracelet are constructed in stainless steel. However, Reference 5711 has a standard 3 part case rather than the original monobloc construction, allowing for easier serviceability and a sapphire case back to view inhouse Caliber 324 S C. The timepiece has a date complication, and the hands and hour markers are blackened white gold to contrast the stark white dial.
