More Information
Specialist note
Introduced in 1976, the design of the Patek Philippe Nautilus was inspired by portholes found on maritime vehicles. The original Reference 3700 was constructed with a monobloc case, replicating the way portholes were opened on vessels.
The present lot, Reference 3710/1A-001, is a whimsical take on the steel bracelet watch by Patek Philippe. The timepiece features a matte black dial with a power reserve that is slightly off-centered at the upper half. The playful indicator resembles a shoot star, leading to its moniker the “Comet”. The watch also features a date window in addition to luminous white gold hands and Roman hour markers. The 40mm bracelet watch measures at a thickness just above 8mm, making the timepiece extremely comfortable and streamline on the wrist.
