Cal. V492 mechanical movement, 17 jewels, silvered two-tone dial, applied gold Arabic and baton numerals, Arabic five minute divisions, outer telemetre and tachymetre scales, two subsidiary guilloche dials for constant seconds and 30 minutes register, circular case, recessed crown, stepped bezel, snap on back, downturned fluted claw lugs, two rectangular chronograph buttons in the band, case, dial and movement signed
35.5 mm. diam.

Specialist note

The present watch is a fine example of Vacheron Constantin's celebrated reference 4178 chronograph wristwatch combining a beautifully proportioned case and attractive fluted lugs with a charismatic two-tone silvered dial combining tachymetre and telemetre scales.

According to the Archives of Vacheron Constantin, it was made in 1951.
