Mrs. Cantley (according to a note in the auctioneer's book), by whom bequeathed to
Lady Adelaide Brownlow, Countess Brownlow, nee Chetwynd-Talbot (d. 1917), at Alford House (according to a label on the reverse), and by inheritance to
Peregrine Cust, 6th Baron Brownlow (1899-1978), Belton House, Grantham; Christie's, London, 3 May 1929, lot 13, as 'Pintoricchio' (440 gns. to The Savile Gallery).
