This painting displays a knowledge of motifs that are typical of Andrea Previtali, notably in the delicate description of the landscape and the foliage, in the gentle and affectionate movement of the Madonna's head, and in the overall compositional idea, which is reminiscent of the Madonna and Child and a Donor, signed and dated 1502, in the Museo Civico, Padua.
