Specialist note
James Morison's well-documented commission for the manufacture of handsome furnishings for Blairquhan, under the careful guidance of Sir David Hunter Blair, includes the agreement signed in December 1823 to supply handsome furniture 'agreeable in shape, size and pattern to that brought from London'. Sir David commissioned James and Mathew Morison to undertake the vast majority of the furniture at Blairquhan during the years 1823 and 1825.
