W. Esdaile (L. 2617), with his inscription 'C. Roger's coll. 1799 P101 N101'; perhaps Christie's, London, 18 June 1840, lot 367 (A. Tempesta, The combat of Scipio and Annibale, pen and bistre; a fine composition, 6s. to Mayor, with lot 366).
An unidentified Italian collector's inscription 'Rinier Ricardi Generale dello Esercito.' on the mount.
