Abraham casting out Hagar and Ishmael
etching, circa 1610-30, on laid paper, without watermark, a fine, tonal impression of this rare print, trimmed inside the platemark but outside the borderline
Sheet 196 x 245 mm.

Giuseppe Storck (1766-1836), Milan (Lugt 2319), dated 1798 and inscribed In. No. 812b; his collection seized in 1815 and subsequently sold to Giuseppe Vallardi and Samuel Woodburn.
Presumably with Samuel Woodburn (1786-1853), London (see Lugt 2584; without his mark).
John Sheepshank (1787-1863), Leeds, Hastings and London (Lugt 2333); the collection sold in 1836 to Smith.
With William Smith (1808-1876), London; acquired from the above.
British Museum, London (Lugt 301); acquired from the above; with their duplicate stamp (Lugt 305), with the signature of John A. G. Gere, Keeper of Prints & Drawings, 1973-1981.
Acquired in exchange from the above by the present owner.
