Cal. 72B mechanical lever movement stamped ROW, 17 jewels, silvered brushed dial, applied baton numerals with luminous accents, luminous hands, three engine-turned black subsidiary dials for 12 hours and 30 minutes registers and constant seconds, tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case, bezel calibrated to a maximum of 300 units per hour, screw down crown, screw back, two round chronograph pushers in the band, stainless steel Rolex Jubilee bracelet, overall approximate length 7 inches, case, dial, and movement signed

Accompanied by a Rolex service division presentation box.

Available in stainless steel, 14k and 18k gold, reference 6239 was the firm's first chronograph with the tachometer scale engraved on the bezel and the subsidiary dials in a different color than the main dial for better readability. The present model has ROW stamped on the movement, indicating it was made for the American market and is further offered in excellent overall condition. Furthermore, this watch retains the original bezel calibrated to a maximum 300 units per hour, which was shortly thereafter changed on later examples of the reference 6239 to a maximum 200 units per hour.
