MARK OF PETER VAN DYCK, NEW YORK, CIRCA 1710
Tapering cylindrical, on a molded foot, the scroll handle with applied beaded rattail and with corkscrew thumbpiece and a cast cherub’s-mask terminal, the flat domed cover, with crenellated lip, and engraved with a coat-of-arms and crest, the handle engraved with initials WT/MT, marked twice on rim near top handle join
7 ¾ in. (19.7 cm.) high overall; 41 oz. 10 dwt. (1,299 gr.)

專家說明

Peter van Dyck (1684-1750) apprenticed with New York silversmith Bartholomew Le Roux in 1700. He married Le Roux’s daughter, Rachel, in 1711.
