專家說明
With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and raised rose gold indexes in 1937 and its subsequent sale on 24 January 1938.
Never presented to public auction before, the present watch is believed to be one of only 14 examples in pink gold to have been offered at auction, interestingly retailed by Hausmann & Co., Patek Philippe's prestigious retailer in Rome.
The modern, yet typical Art Deco style case of reference 492, in production from 1936 until the date 1940s, was designed to fit around the wrist and is also called "Railway" because of its aerodynamic look and the stepped sides.
The highly elegant design of the model served as inspiration for the creation of reference 5105, the limited edition in platinum made to commemorate the reopening of Patek Philippe's Salons in Geneva in 2006.
