The owner of the Mo Gui Tang collection Li Qiaofeng was born in 1921 in Guangdong. With a passionate love for Chinese paintings and calligraphy, Li studied under the tutelage of many artists, particularly, Zhang Daqian. During Zhang Daqian's visits to Hong Kong, Li would play host to him and spend time together discussing the arts.

墨歸堂李喬峰先生珍藏張大千書畫
墨歸堂主人為李喬峰先生。李先生於1921年在廣東新會出生，自小愛書畫，好學深思，曾追隨多位名師，包括簡琴齋、李研山、馮康侯等，探研金石書畫藝術。蒙簡琴齋先生介紹，成為張大千的門生。大千先生以其深嗜伊秉綬書法，致力搜求，故賜‘墨歸堂’室號，用誌墨卿書跡歸付賞知者之緣。大千先生偶爾來港作客，李氏亦作招待，相聚歡暢。
