Thomas Fentham, 'Carver and Glass grinder' is recorded working at the No.136 Strand Street address from 1794-1820. Fentham, who 'catered to an export business' was listed at various locations in London from 1777. Two closely related labeled examples are illustrated in C. Gilbert, Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture 1700-1840, Leeds, 1996, pp. 200-201, figs. 336 and 338.
