Each with ribbed handle, printed after Robert Hancock, the first with King George II before Liberty seated among trophies of War below a crown, inscribed 'RH Worcester' beside an anchor rebus and a man-o'-war, the second with a portrait of the King of Prussia above the date '1757', flanked by military trophies, similarly inscribed and with a figure of emblematic of Fame, the first cracked with associated rim chip and footrim chip, minor glaze scratching to both

專家說明

The print of George II was adapted from a painting by Thomas Worlidge and was used on mugs and cider jugs at Worcester and Longton Hall. George II gained in popularity following military triumphs during the Seven Years Wars and he became associated with 'The Year of Victories' in 1759 which was a turning point during the war.
