Autograph letter signed ('Jacob Grimm') to an unidentified friend (a contributor to Grimm's Deutsches Wörterbuch), Cassel, 18 June 1839, discussing the dictionary, including the article on Martin Opitz, which deserves more space than that on Martin Günther, whose work is only of interest for certain idiomatic phrases; 'I really would have liked you, as a philologist and historian of literature, to work on a more difficult author of the sixteenth century', while another collaborator, Steinhart, might take on J.H. Voss, Nicolais Nothauser and perhaps Klinger; 'I have in work four books at once whose printing, however, progresses only slowly'; 2 pages, 4to; with an English translation.
