Frank A. Butler is recorded at Doulton from 1772-1911 as a designer and decorator. His designs were much admired by both Queen Victoria and Gladstone. See Desmond Eyles, The Doulton Lambeth Wares, London, 1975, pp. 95-96 for a futher discussion.
