THE FLORENCE GOULD BELLE EPOQUE PEARL, SEED PEARL AND DIAMOND EVENING BAG
Designed as a seed pearl and white leather pouch, trimmed by seed pearl triangular overlay, suspending pearl drops with old European-cut diamond caps and ribbon detail, to the twin-rope cinch cord, gathered by rose-cut diamond rondelles, mounted in platinum, circa 1900, 8½ x 4 ins.

This handbag was owned by Florence Gould, a celebrated patron of the arts and founder of a number of literary and artistic prizes, including the Critics Prize, the Max Jacob Poetry Prize, the Roger Nimier Prize for literature, the Engraving Prize, and the Musical Composition Prize.
