The ivory silk ground worked in coloured silks, depicting 'Temperance', one of the 'Four Cardinal Virtues', as an elegantly dressed lady pouring liquid from a pitcher into another vessel, each corner worked with various scenes within ogival cartouches, including a lady with flowers on her lap and a dog at her feet, possibly representing 'Spring', one of the 'Four Seasons', or 'Smell', one of the 'Five Senses', the others possibly representing the remaining 'Four Seasons'
