Guidalberto, the second wine of Sassicaia, was named for his great-great-great maternal grandfather, Guidalberto della Ghierardesca, and first produced in 2000. Some of the younger vines from the estate vineyards are used along with Merlot from a neighboring estates upon which they have taken a long term lease. This is normally 60 Cabernet Sauvignon blended with about 40 Merlot.
