Specialist note
This endangered species strap is shown for display purposes only and is not for sale. The watch will be supplied with a calf leather strap.
Safely kept away, the present timepiece is preserved in very good overall condition and is sold with the full set of accessories. Fresh to the market and consigned by its original owner, the watch is part of the third series of the 3940 from which only 330 pieces were produced in platinum. It is furthermore believed that the present timepiece is only the third example in platinum with Roman numerals to be offered at auction.
Available in yellow, pink and white gold and platinum. The rarest version, the platinum models such as the present example, were delivered with the plain snap on back only whereas the other case versions were available with both solid and glazed back.
