QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The high-shouldered vase is covered overall with a mottled glaze of rich, crushed-strawberry tone.

Specialist note


The rich texture and depth of color of the glaze on the present vase recalls the famed langyao glaze of the Kangxi period, and is quite different from the even-textured, liver-red glaze most often seen on wares of the Yongzheng and Qianlong periods.
