More Information
Specialist note
Until the recent discovery of this exquisite jewelled watch, it was known only from an original Patek Philippe archive photograph.
Extensive research shows that no reference 3224 has ever been seen publicly. As no further examples have appeared in the intervening 65 years since this watch was created, it is quite likely that it was made by special order as a unique piece.
Shaped as a highly stylised exotic flower, it is a wonderful and bold example of avant-garde 1950s design, the multicoloured precious gemstones are set to form individual flowerheads whilst at the same time having a ‘tutti frutti’ appearance.
A superb and exclusive example of the lavishly jewelled pieces that were specially created for Patek Philippe’s most discerning and stylish clientele during the 1950s.
