Specialist note

Very attractive and highly sought-after, the present watch stands out as an early and oversized steel chronograph. Dating to the mid 1940s, the watch has a diameter of 45.5mm, a rarity for this time in production where few are known to the market. The dial, aging nicely, is turning a darker shade towards the upper middle which will no doubt continue to transform further to a full "tropical" dial in years to come. Furthermore, the movement is stamped UOW, the U.S.A import code for Universal.
