Specialist note
Péret first found success under the business name 'BERTHET ET PERET', obtaining a bronze medal at the 1844 Exposition des produits de l'industrie française and a silver medal at the 1849 at the Exposition nationale. From 1856-1864 he held an atelier at 19, rue Montmorency (formerly no. 13), and is known to have signed his works in various manners, including 'Maison PÉRET...' and 'PÉRET, à Paris...'.
