With: original fitted Patek Philippe presentation box, Extract from the Archives confirming the production of the present watch engraved to front and back with a hunting scene representing "Le courre du cerf aux étangs" (deer hunt at the ponds) in 1973 and its subsequent sale on 1 July 1973.

Specialist note

Until its consignment to this auction by the family of the original owner the present ref. 865/13 was only known through a Patek Philippe archival image, see illustration. It is preserved in very good overall conditon, both covers finely chased and engraved with the theme "Deer Hunt" as confirmed by the Extract from the Archives. The case was supplied by Favre-Perret, master case makers located in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

Reference 865, a hunter case pocket watch, was launched in 1969 and remained in production until the early 1990s. It was available in yellow and white gold and with a variety of decoration styles, including enamel miniatures or portraits, chased or engraved scenes and others.

It is thought that approx. 220 decorated cases were made by the best artists of the time, each unique.
