Specialist note

Crafted out of a beautiful 18k white gold case, the present timepiece is offered in ‘Like New’ condition with all its accessories.

Created for the pioneering aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, the timepiece was developed following an encounter between the aviator and Louis Cartier. Engineered to facilitate the access to time during flights, the Santos-Dumont wristwatch was born and followed the pilot on each of his adventures.

Highly complicated, the present timepiece encompasses a mechanical movement with tourbillon complication aiming at countering the effects of gravity on timekeeping accuracy. Crafted to the highest standard, the timepiece is further stamped by the Geneva seal, considered a guarantee of the provenance, timekeeping accuracy and quality of craftsmanship devoted towards the creation of the timepiece.
