Cal. 19’’’ mechanical movement, 24 jewels, repeating with two hammers, gold cuvette, white enamel dial, radial Arabic numerals, outer red chronograph scale, subsidiary seconds, entirely scroll and foliage engraved case, the front cover with a vari-coloured gold fishing scene, the back with a vari-coloured gold hunting scene, repeating slide and chronograph button in the band, movement signed and numbered

Specialist note

The present watch is a fine example of a timepiece made by the renowned watchmaker Charles Henri (or Henry) Meylan for the North American market. Originating from the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland Meylan founded his own company in Le Brassus in 1878 but lived in New York for a number of years. He held various American patents for his watches which were imported into the US by Mathey Bros., Mathez & Co., New York, and which were also supplied to Waltham Watch Co.
