Each oblong and with gadrooned borders, the covers with detachable cast crest finials, engraved with a coat-of-arms, the stands on foliage feet, with scroll handles, marked on cover, base, finial and under stand
the stands 13 in. (33 cm.) long

The arms are those of Tyssen, almost certainly for William George Daniel-Tyssen (1773-1838) of Westbrook House, Upwey, Dorset.

Specialist note

William George Daniel-Tyssen (1773-1838) was the only son of John Daniel (1734-90). He changed his name to Daniel Tyssen by royal licence in 1814. His wife Amelia (1775-1851), was the daughter and heiress of Capt. John Amherst RN. Their grandson, William Amhurst Tyssen Amherst (1835-1909) was created 1st Baron Amherst of Hackney in 1892.
