Copied from one of the woodcut portraits illustrating Giorgio Vasari's Delle vite de' Pittori, Scultori, et Architettori che sono state da Cimabue in qua (1568), this is a version of one of the series of fifty such portraits contained in an album (Jaffé, op. cit., nos. 1348-1397) in the Devonshire Collection at Chatsworth (Jaffé, op. cit., no. 1378).
