Like the colour shift of tropical dials, this characteristic is due to ageing and it amplifies the collectability and aesthetic impact of the timepiece. The attractively discoloured luminous material to numerals and hands display a fascinating sand tone with the 6 o'clock hour marker showing a lighter tone, a particularity often seen on early Rolex sports watches. The case, never exposed to careless polishing, impresses any beholder with its full body and sharp angles to the facets of the lugs.
