‘The complex composite image is constructed by the careful sandwiching together of a number of advertisements that have previously been subjected to a process of dissection and removal of all the body and text elements… [The] collages develop Fairhurst’s interest in making an image by either addition or reduction, summarised in the artist’s proposal, “Keep adding until you can’t add anything else. Take everything away until there is nothing left’’’
