ONE PAIR ATTRIBUTED TO PIERRE-PHILIPPE THOMIRE, PARIS, CIRCA 1810-1815, THE OTHER PAIR LATER
Each with a pierced basket with interlaced grape vines above an acanthus-headed reverse-fluted and leaf-tip column flanked by three bacchic maidens, on a concave tripartite plinth mounted with horns of plenty, on lion's paw feet, minor differences in gilding, one pair with associated candlearms, some arms slightly bent
20 ½ in. (52 cm.) high; 9 ½ in. (24 cm.) deep

The Empire pair from the collection of King Louis Philippe (1773-1850) of France; and thence by descent.
