Designed by Gillows to support vases of flowers, these stands are elaborate versions of a model first shown in 1822 (Estimate Sketch Books folio 3170). The 1822 sketch is notable for being the first early 19th century Gillows Lancaster design clearly based on a mid-18th century tripod table.
